Button configuration question

How do I change a button in GameEx? The button that controls the volume needs to be changed to key "J" to fit my IPAC. How do I do this? I cannot find anything in the help files and I cannot find any other posts. HELP!!! Thanks Castcreator

I usually just copy the GameEx config file to another directory and cut & paste the emulator info back into it (since for some reason every time I update I lose a chunk of my emulators... Seems like some sort of bug. My emulator options are different than the initial install, meaning the list is different than the one that originally comes with the program)

If there's a better way I'd love to hear about it.

um i think you edit the customcontrol.ini file (or something like that, im at work at the moment so cant check) and there is a list of each function and the key that controls it, from memory they are identified by a number and you have to cross-reference from another list to find the number for the key you want.

In your GameEx\CONFIG folder, edit the file "custominput.ini". Look in "scancodes.txt" to see which code matches which key. You must also enable the use of custom input in GameEx Configuration -> Input -> Enable custom keyboard controls.

I would like to reconfigure the controls that are used in the GameEx menus. I looked in this config folder and I don't see custominput.ini. I also didn't find a scancodes.txt in any of the GameEx sub folders. How do I create these files? I did enable the custom keyboard controls under the Configuration>Input menu.

It almost never fails. As soon as I post a question, I usually just figure out the issue.

I needed to be hit with a clue hammer on this one. I was looking at the wrong GameEx directory.

Nothing to see here.
