starbuck Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Why not put the systems out with a placeholder. Then release your game themes in paks to over write the placeholder. That way we could start using the theme now and enjoy the new game themes as you release them. All games would show up in the theme for each system you have made a screen for. Then the system theme would either show the placeholder or the game theme you have created. Quote
Krakerman Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 @Starbuck I haven't heard from you in awhile old friend was starting to wonder what happened to you. A matter of fact I was planning on that but with these new layouts I needed to create a custom placeholder theme as well. These themes will work just like before and will need to be placed in the Title directory for each system as that is the third layer that these themes will require to work correctly. For best results I recommend using HyperLauncher & HyperPause (soon to be RocketLauncher) but not required. Maybe by later tonight or tomorrow I will have the Atari 5200 Pre-release (only have about 14 game titles so far) ready for you guys to try out with a custom map file so only the games with themes that have been created will be displayed. I will include the custom place holder theme for you as well that you can use if you wish. Quote
starbuck Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Been super busy, a few surgeries, placed my mother-in-law in a nursing home. Just general life taking all my time. Luv the new theme. Haven't had time to try and figure out the new hyperlauncher. Reading you post you seem to have quite a few of the systems done. Would luv for you to put out a pak with the systems you've finished with the custom placeholders. This would give users the chance to see you great theme in action. Then they can wait with bated breath for the themes to come.PS. Sorry about your cat Quote

starbuck Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Ok. Downloaded. Refresh my old memory. I know where to put the titles and map file. Where do I put the theme and the ini file Quote
Krakerman Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Unzip MAP and THEMES folder in your GameEx directory. This will place the appropriate files in the GameRoom (1920x1080) theme folder. The Place Holder theme will need to be copied and renamed for each game that you want to have a theme for that hasn't been created yet. It is a generic 5200 Box and Cart theme that I made. Quote
starbuck Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Did it all but placeholder does not seem to be showing up. Just a suggestion. On your game themes I'd liked the old style where the name of the system was on top. Showing the cartridge inserted on top seems redundant the cartridge below. Also if someone comes in of the middle of a session they have no idea what system they are playing Quote
starbuck Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Ok understand what I need for the placeholder. Believe I have a batch file that will do that for all the games in one stroke. Quote
Krakerman Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 If you don't mind could you post the batch file as I been needing a tool to do batch copy and renaming for awhile now. Thanks Quote
starbuck Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Here it is . Would be cool, that when you each share each new system theme you include the placeholders. Then when you release game paks they would overwriite the placeholders. Doing it this way you could release all the great system themes you have already done. The program only takes seconds to do all the game themes with placeholders for each systems.Starbuck.7z 1 Quote
