woodyjiow
Hi all,I have obtained No-intro rom sets for all cartridge based systems and they are working great with GameEx so far. I am currently just deciding on what sets to get for CD based systems and have been circling the Trurip sets. Can anyone tell me whether these are compatible with the GamEx databases? Thanks in advance! nullPointer
Hi woodyjiowDatabase Query! Ha, I love it. Currently the two popular disc image sets that are officially supported by the databases are ReDump and TOSEC. That's not to say that Trurip sets couldn't be compatible with GameEx databases (after all they simply match by name), only that there is not currently a column reserved for Trurip.
woodyjiow
Thanks nullPoiinter! I'll look into acquiring some Redump sets until Trurip are officially supported..
Shermo
Trurip are fine BUT as they are .ccd files you need to have demon tools installed and running rather then drop in the .bin files. It's made easier of course with Adultery's DTLoader. I personally go for the trurip's as the audio on segacd seem to be better on them so have carried on with the others. As long as they are named (Gamename) (Region) I've never ran into a issue also the hyperspin sets are good for dropping into gameex
woodyjiow
I was hoping to avoid renaming the trurip sets as it makes it harder to maintain them when the new torrents become available. I'm in the process of downloading some trurip stuff so I'll see how it goes.
Shermo
Most of the hyperspin sets are trurip, all of it is named ready to go also
woodyjiow
I've read about the hyperspin ready sets and it seems that they are generally compromised from several different sources (using trurip as a base). Unfortunately, the purist side of me (read OCD) would prefer to have my rom sets from one source. Also I'm aware that the hyperlist XMLs are far from complete and are currently undergoing some revision. To this end I'd rather just download a 'complete' rom set as it's much easier to update, and avoids having to rename the roms.
