I just downloaded GameEx yesterday and have started playing with it, so I'm kinda new to all this. I'm currently not using MAME, and instead just want to use console and handheld emulators. I have downloaded emulators for the Wii, Gamecube, N64, NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, GBC, GBA, and DS. For each of these emulators, I have the path set to C:\Emulators and the rom path set to C:\Roms. Currently, the ONLY emulator that I have roms for is the Gamecube, and all of the other rom folders are empty. However, GameEx is showing that I have roms listed under NES, SNES, and N64 but when I try to play one of them it says that the file cannot be found and I am returned to the GameEx Emulators screen. My question is how do I remove these games from being listed in GameEx, since they are either not working or don't even exist? I want my games list to be neat and clean and for everything to be working.

If this would help, here are all the games listed that are not working:

SNES: 007: GoldenEye, Killer Instinct Gold, Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, Starfox 64

N64: Centipede, Frogger, Galaxian, Zaxxon

NES: Donkey Kong Country, Street Fighter II the World Warrior, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World

Not only do none of these games work, they have been miscategorized and placed under the wrong emulators. Again, I just want to remove all of them completely and add my own roms to these emulators. Thanks so much for any help!

Hi trogdor7,

The games you are seeing listed are probably the dummy roms and media supplied with GameEx. They are fake roms and do not work. Their only intended purpose is to demonstrate how GameEx will look and function once you have populated the directories with your own real roms ;)

After all, if you are new to this and you installed GameEx without the dummy roms or any roms of your own, you would essentially see nothing when you loaded it for the first time. The dummy roms give the first-time user a chance to see and feel GameEx before loading it with your own collections. You are safe to delete them and replace them :)
