hi again ,

what emulators are recomended for use with gameEX ?

i have tryed model 2 with varied support meaning non gun

games work some of the time.

these are the emulators i have tested --

------------------------------------------------------------------

pj64 - didnt load up at all for me , i got a blank screen.

zsnes - works perfectly.

model 2 - worked with non gun games then stoped working.

rocknes - didnt work , blank screen when loading roms.

------------------------------------------------------------------

the big issue for me is when trying to load a rom

i get blank screen and if i run gameEX windowed

i can see that the emulator in most cases is halted

at rom load , on pj64 and model 2 the emulator runs

in the background meaning there must be some loss

of focus or something.

i have read the other posts on these emulator issues

and have changed my config accordingly with no joy.

could we possibly have a sticky on emulator compatibility ?

thanks

Well...

I use the following emulators on GameEx and they work seamlessly.

AdvanceMAME, MAME32, Zinc, Model 2 - Mostly working (aside from some Model 2 problems)

1964 - n64

ZSNES - SNES

NEStopia - NES

VisualBoyAdvance - GBA, GB Color, GB Mono

KEGA - Genesis, Master System, Game Gear, Sega CD, 32X

MagicEngine - Turbo Grafx 16 CD & PC Engine

Neo Rage - Neo Geo Console

NeoPop - Neo Geo Pocket

Bliss - Intellivision

Handy - Lynx

MESS - Atari 7800, 5200, TRS 80, Apple IIe, Colecovision

Stella - Atari 2600

Virtual Jaguar - Atari Jaguar

I keep my ROMS seperate, so really I just set up each emulator to run each system (eg Sega Genesis, Master System, GBC, GB Mono, etc.) If you're having problems with any of these emulators I'd be more than happy to help you configure them. Really nothing to it once you get going. The real secret is really in the command line and it takes some digging and alot of trial and error to get it running just right, but it's worth it.

Hope that helps!

Best of luck to you, and remember - the forum's here if you need help (command line options, .ini / .cfg files, etc.)

A new and flashy NVIDIA cad's less than $100 and will be twice as powerful as what you're using. Ebay is your friend!

Adultery, I have a question regarding setting up NEStopia.

I got it to work fine on my home PC, but on my MAME PC I get the error "Parameters incorrect, did you forget commas?"

Even though the configs are the same. It's frustrating the hell out of me.

Any guidance, maybe a copy of your config would be incredibly helpful. I don't mean to hijack your thread romstar.

Thanks.

Just a quick question though... Does your NEStopia run on it's own (the only problems you're having are running it through GameEx?) on your MAME cab?

Also, are all your ROMS on a network? (Meaning file paths are the same for both your PC and your MAME cab?) If so, when you run NEStopia on the cab, can you boot up any ROMS at all?

I'll try to help you troubleshoot if the .cfg doesn't do any good. Let me know.

Hope that helps! :)
