Would like to be able to continue to use GameEX rather than Emuloader/EMucon, since Ciro now says several features I want to see will 'never' be added.

GameEX is prettier anyway :)

1. I would like to be able to change the size of the game list font (right now it is so large games with long names are cut off).

2. I am not sure what this is called, but in Emuloader, if you were to type 'P-A-C' it would take you right to the first game with 'Pac' in the title, alphabetically. Right now in, in GameEX, if I werre to type P-A-C, it would first take me to the first game with 'P' then the first with 'A', then 'C', and so on. This can be annoying to scroll through the entire gamelist to find a game that isnt listed in my favorites.

3.The ability to minamize GameEX. Right now, all I can do is click another window to go over GameEX, but I cant actually min. it to the taskbar.

4. Much simpler console support. Right now, the only browse feature is when pointing to the folder then emu is in. In Ciro's Emucon, it goes by emulator type in the configuration menu. It also allows me to browse for the roms folder..in GameEX, the config menu wont let me minamize it to check what the roms folders name is...very annoying as occasionally it is not just 'roms'. Sorry for the comparison to Ciro's work, but a combination of some features would really help GameEX. Rather than the generic way the various 'Emulators' are set up now, perhaps it could be done by console type, so then the user should only have to point to the emulator and roms folder themselves?

5.VPinMAME support. Right now, GameEX supports the Visual Pinball just fine, but NOT the combination 'VpinMAME', which uses both user-made tables and the actual game roms.

6. Crash test screen support, but you and I seem to have commucation problems over what exactly I mean :)...sometime I will PM you with the long explination.

THanks, I really enjoy your program. I apologize again for the comparisons to Ciro's projects, but he had excellent ideas which could be used in GameEX.

I'd like to see a better "game-finding" interface too. I run mine completely off of the joystick and buttons, so it can be a pain to select the "All Games" category and have it always start with 10-Yard Fight. :)

Even if there was just a list of letters along the top of the screen that you could scroll through and select, that would be a tremendous step in the right direction.

You mean yours doesn't start at 005? Anyway I suggest Tom add Alpha scrolling, which would allow you to scroll to the first game at each letter of the alphabet, which is MUCH faster than a page down on Arcade Cabinets using a joystick.

Tom, You said you couldn't keep page down and add alpha scrolling without toggling for lack of buttons, BUT what if:

Right now I have to hold in I think button 2 (not wure which one that is) in order to page up and down via an up or down press on the joystick. I say leave that alone, and if while pressing the Button 2 you moved the joystick left or right it would alpha scroll. Then you get the best of both worlds without a lot of complications since I am already holding that button down anyway.

Is that possible? It would make getting to an individual ROM very fast with a joystick.

Very good call Dave, I think that will work.

1. Have you tried Arcade Mode?

2. Its happening

3. TBC

4. It should allow you to browse for all paths and the CMD. Does it not? In addition, have you tried pressing ALT-TAB in windows. It was a critical key combination in windows prior to version 95. No offence but

5. I've been running PinMAME in GameEx since I added emu support. I think I covered this in another post. If you still need help reply to that one.

6. Your follow up reply covered it and I understand now. Just had no time to really look at it yet.

Thanks,

Tom
