computer crash

last night my computer went to black screen nothing was shown i tested the gfx card on my GF computer worked fine (damn was hoping it was that simple) removed all hhd cables and cards (sound card , network card) still no luck

leaving me with only the motherboard,ram,cpu and afcouse gfx card...

tested the ram on my gf computer as well again worked fine so i did come up with the conclussion its either the mainboard or the cpu there have fried

so im a forced upgrade to the lowest price anyone there have some suggestions it have to be minimum what i had i wouldnt go for a downgrade

old specs. P4 3.0 asus deluxe main board 4 ddr ram 256mb (dual channel)...

3 ide hdd 80gb ,160gb, 80gb 1 sata1 320 gb hhd ..

Yeah I normally use dabs or scan.

well i looked at the warrenty papers and noticed i had 2 months left of my 2 years warrenty and have a chance to get it repaired so ill try that first

I can't stand overclockers, whilst we were upgrading the renderfarm got a shedload of components that failed within weeks and trying to return/replace them was met with nothing but premium rate telephone advert holding messages and no help at the end of it. Dabs returns are never any problems, granted overclockers is cheap, but go for reputable and solid equipment if your buying from there.

Haven't tried Scan.co.uk, will check them out myself as well.
