Newest versions of PinballX supports "hide pinmame" option in the settings. Which is a really nice addition... However with Batman Forever I would really like to show the pinmame window in addition to the real DMD due to the higher resolution of the original DMD which makes the lower resolution Vishay look like crap for this game.

I was testing it directly from VP and after I started the table from PinballX -> pinmame window was hidden as expected. Now I just can't get it back anymore.

I have tried at least the following

- Hide pinmame = No in PinballX settings

- Controller.hidden = 0 in the table script

- Controller.ShowDMDOnly = 0 in the table script

- DMD = VIsible in the dB2S settings (for the table)

- Running table without dB2S backglass

But the pinmame window stays hidden... any ideas how to get it back? Is there any possibility to add an exception for specific tables?

I tried out Batman Forever on my cab for you. I am not having any issues with either hiding the virtual dmd or displaying it. Right clicking on the DB2S backglass and selecting "visible" in the DMD dropdown is working for me. I am able to move the virtual dmd from the playfield onto the backglass. It stays on the backglass after closing and reloading VP and it stays in place after loading it from PinballX also. Are you forgetting to save and then press F3 to reset the rom?

My settings in the pinballX setup wizard are as follows:

DMD Enabled- Yes

DMD Display- Display 3

Position PinMame- Yes

Hide Pinmame- No

In the table script I have:

Controller.ShowTitle=0

Controller.ShowFrame=0

Controller.ShowDMDOnly=1

...........("ddraw")=1

Hope this helps you man

Did you have the "hide pinamame" enabled at anytime in PinballX?

It worked for me fine from VP before I launched the table from PinballX with the "hide pinmame = yes" option. So I'm just wondering if PinballX writes this somewhere in the registry and the "normal" ways of enabling the pinmame don't work anymore.

It's not dB2S related because I tried directly from VP without the backglass and still it's hidden :) I may have missed something still... going to try again this evening!

No I haven't had hide pinmame enabled in pinballx. I never needed to. All of my vp tables are using db2s and I've used those settings to hide it

OK... got it working eventually! I had to delete all registry keys for the batmanf rom under pinmame. Nothing else worked. No idea which setting was actually hiding it but I don't even care anymore. It works :)
