PINBALLX not display Backglass and Dmd videos on first start

I

Hope someone can point me in the right direction, because i am sitting here two evenings now trying to find a solution.

If i launch PinballX with Windows startup, the Backglass and Dmd video not show up. The Table videos play fine. I can select and play the tables. If i exit PinballX and launch it again by clicking the PinballX icon - everything works fine. BG and DMD Videos are working.

If i disable Autostart, and click the icon, when Windows is loaded - the first starting, no Backglass and Dmd displayed - then i exit and click again all is working great.

The Table Videos are always working.

The Backglass Videos and DMD are from the FTP SIte and all .f4v format.

Shark Codecs installed.

Windows 7 64bit, I5, Gtx 660.

I really not know what to try do anymore!

UPDATE:

It is a Focus problem, i guess.

If i use ALT-TAB to go back on my Destop and switch back again all is playing fine......

What can i DO???

Try a small delay before starting PinballX

A small batch should do the job.

Tryed the batch file. It is not working. I not thing a delay is the problem, because i could start Pinballx without booting with Windows wait everything is loaded and i have the same behavior.

As soon i use ALT-Tab to go to Destop and Back, the videos are playing both DMD and Backglass.

If i exit Pinballx one time and start a second time, it works and i can start it as often i want and it is always working. Soon i reboot the same problems restarting.

Thank you for your help with the batch file, made me happy already to try!!

Tonight, i reinstalled my Computer.

Installed PinballX and it is reactig the same.

Once PinballX was launched one time - all Videos are working with the second start of PX.

I really not know anything more to try.

I am pretty sure you are on the right track with adding a delay. It might just need increasing. Its a common problem.

i got a little progress, i guess. Played arround with monitor positions and bios settings. I got it working by disabling the onboard Hd4600 gfx's. Since my knowledge is limited to fix it, i will run to buy another cable for the gtx660 and connect the third monitor to the others for the dmd screen. So all would be handled by the gtx660.Originally i thought it would be easy to mix the Nvidia with the Intel chipset, but...but. Maybe there are settings for this, i not know of.

I will report later, when i get home from work.

I dont know if it has something to do with the issue, but your Primary Displays resolution is 480 x 720 ?

The Primary display is the Playfield Tv with 1920x1080. But i switched them also, while trying to find out what happens, the others are 1280x1024 monitors. Not tried the cable yet. Will do a test when i arrive home later.

Sorry to get back here this late.

I not wanted to miss to thank you all for your help. All is working for the moment. I cannot really say, why, how and what was causing the problem.

All these little great programms working together are really fragile on my system and i should make a backup as soon as possible.

Most of all nerves me that i not really know, what caused and causes problems here. So the solution is a mix of listening to your advice:

- reinstalled system (not helped)

- internal GFX drivers

- set compatibility modis for all Programms PinballX and specially Future Pinball stuff/like Bam, FutureDMD.

- PinballX.ini

- Monitor positions

- changed from DVI Analog to Digital

- Delay batchfile

- Killed Taskbar Items

- Cleaned Startup (msconfig)

- losing nerves about WIn7

- changed some monitor resolutions

- drink some beer

- registered dlls and give access to programs and dlls and so on.

SOLVED

Now its time to install some more pinball tables to get my joy back to continue this project.
