I have just installed Pinball X, I ran the setup (as administrator) and entered the paths to Visual Pinball which is the only programm I have installed (and works fine) and I set the program to desktop mode since I have it installed on my laptop. Then I ran the table manager and added some tables, I have not yet added pictures for the tables since I do not have these yet. When I run PinballX the tables that I adde show up in the display, and it says 47 tables installed but the problem is I can't do anything after that, no key whatsoever triggers a reaction, I can't get out either, only pressing alt-tab which switches to another window, or taskmanager and shut down pinballX is possible. The programm does not seem stuck, I hear the sound of Tommy in the beginning, but that's about it, the bar below switches from free play to start to Road Kings, which seems to be the demo table that was already installed. I am running Windows 7 X64. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Arjan and welcome to the forums!

My PinballX knowledge is somewhat limited, however what you describe could be the result of a firewall permission auto-blocking a process. I would check that neither PinballX, Visual Pinball or any of their related processes have been blocked by your firewall. In most firewalls you have a certain time frame to respond to an alert, and if you missed it the first time your firewall will most likely have auto-blocked the process. In the case that this might have happened, loading your firewall and giving all the mentioned processes full access may solve your issue.

If not, you're in good hands here :)

I would try unplugging any USB devices and perhaps test with a non wireless keyboard. Also check you have the recommended codecs installed. Keyboard input just uses the regular basic Windows API so there generally should be no issue. Also please let us know your systems details etc. Read the text when you reply to this topic about what we need.

I don´t think that the wireless keyboard causes the issue (My Logitech Wireless Keyboard/Touchpad works very well).

Have you tried assigning left/right to other keys in the PinballX Setup?

Maybe PinballX loses focus, so try switching with alt+tab to another app ant then switch back to PinballX
