movieman you have to be a little more patient because we are being patient with you and were trying to help. It's difficult to help someone with limited computer skills, we are trying to help as you can tell by giving you diagrams and such. You need the latest version of GameEx to change the font colour. And you need to use the GameEx Theme Editor to do it. It's located in the GameEx directory. The problem you will no doubt encounter is the fact that the editor is designed for V2 themes only. You are trying to change the colour of a V1 theme.

If you want to change the colour of the font for a V1 theme try the following (although I am not sure if it will work).

Open the theme.ini file located in the "Default - Deep Purple" directory (or the directory of the theme your using). Under the [General] section you need to add the following:

TextColor=-256

That should change your text colour to yellow.

sorry about me acting like that it will not happen again so let me get this straight i need to download the newversion of gameex for me to change the font color but can you tell me what the color would be for neon green that is the color i would like to have for the font color for the mame list and red font color for the mame list for the blade trinity theme or would it be easier for you if you can get all the font colors for me for V2 THEME AND V1 THEME and if not get you make it on the new version please thankxs for listening

I've attached a small util that will tell you the number of a color. You press the "Set Color..." button and it will tell you the number you need to put in your theme.ini file below.

ok i put the setcode and i opened up theme do i put it like this below the text

i went to upgrade config i did not change the color so how do i fig this out

this is what i did below what you told me to do i still have gameex version 5.88

then i went to save as then i went to the gameex folder in the program

files then i went to the UpgradeConfig and then loaded up the gameex and still nothing the mame list is still the same it did not change the color

thankxs headkaze for your patience with me and also the others members i have another big i got the new version of gameex 5.97 any way there is a photo below when i was watching the gmaeex demo video when it was scrolling threw games how to you get the picture of live gameplay when trying to choose a game i wrote the word in red marker on the page can you help thankxs

mame_videos_shrunk i really confused where to put folder in mame folder

1. i downloaded the mame_videos_shrunk  on my computer where at in my mamefolder do i put the mame_videos_shrunk at do i just extract it to my mamefolder at then go to the gameex folder and go to

GameExConfig where do i program the folder from there can you tell me

The startup video can be blank, that is just for playing a video when you start up GameEx and is not related to the video snaps. Looks like you've got to grips with GameEx, looking good

how does the karoke work where does the karoke folder go does it go in the gameex folder or can i put it in my music folder and then call it karoke folder

do i have to make a folder for just karoke

and what about my settings

Yes you have to have a separate folder for karaoke files. Then in GameEx config program go to karaoke and set the path in there. You will of course need .mp3/.cdg or .kar files in there in order for it to work. Also when you install GameEx there is a new option you need to select (only once not everytime you install) called "Install DirectX Karaoke" and that will install the appropriate files to play karaoke files.

2. i did what you told me to do i went to go click on gamex it loaded find of course then i scrolled down to karoke clicked on it then it said Registered Version Only what does this mean can you help

Hi movieman, it means you have to have the registered version of GameEx to use the Karaoke feature. In other works you need to donate $20 (US) to get a registration key which will unlock Karaoke functionality.
