i have background movie themes in my pictures folder how do i use the theme editor to put my background movie themes on gameex right now i am using deep purple but i want to use my own movie themes to see how it looks can you help thankxs

Oh sorry, I didn't get what you meant when you said "movie themes". You mean an AVI video playing in the background right? Okay, in the THEMES directory you will see all the themes. Go into the "Default - Deep Purple" directory. You can copy an avi video in there and just rename it to "bak.avi" and make a copy called "emubak.avi". Now you should have a "movie background" playing in GameEx.

rename your Blade trinity picture to "bak.PNG" and maybe "startbak.PNG" then it should work ...

and if your pictures are in jpg format you need to convert it to .PNG (shouldnt be a problem even it have the wrong file type) but just if you wants to be on the safe side :)

PS: if you wanna have forexample the Predator picture as background for your video section only then rename it to : "videobak.PNG"

else use the theme editor its slick and easy to use :)

Rename the file from .jpg to .png It should read it fine.

If that doesnt work you can use 'microsoft paint' to save the jpg as a png

Ok, back to basics :)

Save the Blade trinity as all of these:

bak.png

daphnebak.png

emubak.png

jukeboxbak.png

picturesbak.png

radiobak.png

startbak.png

videobak.png

Pick your favourite theme; the purple one from the sounds of it.

1. Go to the 'themes folder' in the gameex directory.

2. Copy the 'Default - Deep Purple' folder & rename it to 'Default - My Movie Theme'

3. Now go to the 'media folder' inside your 'my movie theme' folder.

4. Now paste your blade trinity files into the 'media folder' click yes.

5. Now use the Gameex configuration tool; go to Display settings, and select the 'Default - My Movie Theme'.

Thats it

Ok, first things first. Lets see if you can get your image showing in GameEx.

1. Rename your blade image to be bak.png

2. Copy the blade "bak.png" file into the GameEx theme of your choice

Take a look at the attached image below.

Once you have done this you will need to copy over the images above as well since bak.png only shows at the start.

If you have trouble doing this, you may need to get a book on Windows and learn how to copy and paste files.

movieman you have to be a little more patient because we are being patient with you and were trying to help. It's difficult to help someone with limited computer skills, we are trying to help as you can tell by giving you diagrams and such. Demanding help is the first way to get people to ignore your posts.

You need the latest version of GameEx to change the font colour. And you need to use the GameEx Theme Editor to do it. It's located in the GameEx directory. The problem you will no doubt encounter is the fact that the editor is designed for V2 themes only. You are trying to change the colour of a V1 theme.

If you want to change the colour of the font for a V1 theme try the following (although I am not sure if it will work).

Open the theme.ini file located in the "Default - Deep Purple" directory (or the directory of the theme your using). Under the [General] section you need to add the following:

[General]
TextColor=-256

That should change your text colour to yellow.
