Hi,

I can't seem to get zinc to launch when I select PSX games from MAME.

Games tested: G-Darius, Street Fighter EX, Street Fighter EX2, Raystorm, Tekken

all the game roms are in my Mame rom folder, and zinc is configured to run them from the mame folder also.

This is from my gameex config

UseZinc=True

ZincEXE=ZiNc.exe

ZincPath=d:\zinc

ZincOptions=--renderer=.\renderer.znc

This is from my gameex log

01:38:57.0 4/16/2006: Initialising Windows Media Player Component

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: MAME Path is: D:\Mame32

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: daphne Path is: D:\daphne

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: daphne EXE file is: Daphne.exe

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: Use daphne on. Daphne.exe will launch games

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: ZiNc Path is: d:\zinc

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: ZiNc EXE file is: ZiNc.exe

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: Use ZiNc on. ZiNc.exe will launch PSX games

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: MAME EXE file is: Mame32.exe

01:38:57.1 4/16/2006: ROM Path is: D:\Mame32\roms

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure your using the DirectX renderer? Delete your .cfg file for ZiNc and try again?

Also, make sure you set ZiNc up to run full screen?

Or if all else fails...

Make sure you can run ZiNc from the command line. (You can, of course?) If you can and you did all the above... Good luck to you I say. :)

Hi, thanks for your relpy.

I am using zinc 1.1, and mame32 .105 btw

Yes I am using the DirectX renderer. I tired deleting my .cfg file, and it still did not work. Yes I am running zinc full screen, and yes zinc works perfectly from the command line.

Everytime I try to run any of the zinc games in gameex, mame loads them. Anyone else have any idea of how to fix this?

Did you enable Zinc after updating the games list? If so you need to update it again.

Thanks for your reply Tom

That was exactly my problem. I updated my game list the first time I started up GameEX. Then, I enabled Zinc, but I did not update the game list again. Now everything works perfect, thanks alot!

Do I have to put my zinc games into the mame rom folder, or can i have a separate folder for the zinc roms?

same rom folder as mame. Mame can run it or ZiNc but the only thing GameEx does is replace mame with zinc for those games, the actual rom paths are the exact same regardless of whether or not you have zinc enabled in gameex.

like tom said, make sure you update the list after you enable zinc.
