Table Selection Backglass load is slow

Hi, new to pinballx. Have a working installation of Hyperpin and thought I try out Pinballx and am now working out the kinks. I have 3 tables in the XML to test with and when selecting the next table in the menu the backglass image takes about 20 seconds to load. So, when switching from table to table, I have to wait to see the backglass. Playfield and wheel images load immediately.

Side question, when selecting a table, the playfield load screen comes up, then goes black and then after the backglass and DMD load the playfield eventually loads. Is there a way to prevent the black screens?

Did an upgrade of the OS to Win 7, reloaded all software and all issues with loading slowness are gone.

Just wanted to mention to folks I don't even test PinballX on XP accept in a virtual machines sometimes. In regard to video performance in my experience windows 8/8.1 has superior performance at rendering videos in PinballX. Its a lot quicker, not sure why.
