I was wondering if someone could help me get desmume emulator for Nintendo ds and epsxe or psx emulator for playstation setup. both work in emulator but not game ex. not sure if its file /folder issue or command line have tried several, iso support is installed. loads game but no picture and screen stays black til I hit esc. I will get the log, config, and emulator setups in the attachments, thanks

Try turning on debug mode for each emulator, and see if that provides any useful information.

What if you know how to fish but the emulator still doesn't work? Lol!

in debug mode desmume emulator comes up and plays games but in game ex it has sound but black screen, epsxe has error demo not found and install iso support which I did on reinstall, maybe tell me how to get it proper I guess not sure how to do it, in psx it loads games with bin and cue files, but not not ccd or mds and cant guess format, hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction, I think the epsxe command line is not right and I don't have virtual loader plug in enabled if that matters, thanks

I just realized that the emulator.ini files are from the Import-Export folder, and not from your setup. To post your emulator.ini you need to export them first.

Desmume - try setting this to false in your GameEx.ini:

HIDEDESKTOP=True

According to your log you do not have the virtual drive installed:

17:12:03.5 2/24/2014: Running: cmd.exe /c E: ePSXe.exe -nogui Install ISO Support

If you are going to have your roms in rars you will need to enable the roms in zips support (This might be a registered feature).

17:12:51.8 2/24/2014: Running: cmd.exe /c E: psxfin.exe -f "E:\ROMS SETS\No-Intro-Collection_2013-06-14\sony playstation\psx-roms\ncaa-final-four-2001-u-scus-94579-.rar"

will try more when i get home, but i did a reinstall setup and installed iso support and daemon tools lite, not sure why its saying i dont have it, do i need the plugin setup, and for psx i got it to play bin, cue files but wont play disc image, ccd or mds files, will get emulators exported this afternoon and run desmume with hide desktop, also i did try psx with zip support and made no difference, i am a registered user and have my key, is there a place to check if iso support is installed besides just checking it in the setup, thanks

It's been a while since i used daemon tools but i think you need to launch it and setup a virtual drive first. IIRC it doesn't automatically create one on first install. After that GE should use that newly created drive :)

EDIT - also when you do this you might want to manually assign a drive letter - something high up like Q: because it has a habit of auto-assigning low letters (such as D: or E:) which can put all your other drives out of whack ^_^

alright I fixed the ds emulator by the show desktop in emulator settings and using alt + enter in map keys for fullscreen but still cannot get epsxe to run anything even after getting daemon tools setup, it works without gameex I will post emulator export I just did, thanks

Hello :)

I had a similar issue when I first setup the psx emulator...it turned out to be a very small issue.

We are on the way back from Florida right now and I have about a three hour drive left. As soon as I get home, I'll take a look at my settings and let ya know what it was :)

chcp 65001
E:
CD "E:\emulators\ePSXe"

ePSXe.exe -nogui

this is my run it game batch file by edit and copy paste from notepad. I don't have a utilities folder that has run last game. in my game ex-data-runitgame batch file is all I can find. I know in the pinned topics that's not where it says I hope its the same. but this is all I get when I run any psx game from epsxe I think I have the right command line from research here that says epsxe.exe nogui. when I look at the log it seems to want to run a ccd file instead of the actual game file which I have in iso, bin, ecm. mdf, and I think karaoke for direct x is it but it never runs those. all files are extracted. am going to try zip support and merge in the emulator setup to see if it works. but I did read somewhere that zip support was broken I thought.

My commandline for epsx 1.8 is:

ePSXe.exe -nogui -loadmemc0 "memcards\[rom]"

you need to set it up in the Setup Wizard of GameEx, which is in your GameEx installation-folder.

in the Advanced Emulator Setup section of the Setup Wizard you need to find the lines Launch Before:

there you enter: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -mount scsi, 0,"[rompath]\[romfile]"

you maybe need to change the path to your DAEMON Tools Lite, my example here, is a typical Windows 7 64bit situation. The quotes are important, dont forget them

then you need to find the lines Launch After in the Advanced Emulator Setup section of the Setup Wizard (its below Launch Before ;) )

there you enter: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -unmount scsi, 0

Further you need to setup a SCSI-Drive in DAEMON Tools, i remember that it is important somehow, as the images wont be recognized by ePSXe. Dont think it is a problem for you, as you say that you can start games if you use ePSXe in a standalone setup.

This is how it works for me, however ePSXe still pops up with dialog window to choose the image, i want to start... if anyone has a better solution.... be my guest :) .

good luck, hope it works... cheers u-man

PS: my roms are uncompressed .img or .bin and .cue files. I would like to use .rar or even better .7zip files, as they are much smaller in size, but ePSXe seems not to understand them or not to be able to handle them. the good side off course, games are starting much faster, but again, if anyone knows how to handle it better... be my guest :D .

thanks for the help u-man but still no luck, depending on my command line it says I need to install iso support, if I change to one of the others I have found it doesn't, I see it loads virtual loader plug in which I thought was what I needed but I must need to configure the plugin, I don't think I even have it checked in the plugins, maybe that's dt-lite because I do have that installed same directory as you but I have a dt and scsi drive, I don't know the difference but it seems like it wont use the scsi but will use the dt drive but only loads audio files not images, not sure what to try next, ill keep messing with the command line and drives. just want it in gameex, so I don't have to use keyboard and mouse on the new setup, thanks

maybe its daemon tools I tried to mount image in both drives and nothing works
