[RESOLVED] Issues running Master System & Sega CD games with Kega Fusion

I have Kega Fusion 3.64 installed on my system. Outside of GameEx, Fusion will run my Genesis, Master System, & Sega CD files with no problem. Inside of GameEx is where I'm having problems.

I have 3 instances of Fusion setup - one for each system. The run command for each looks like this...

Master System - Fusion.exe -sms -fullscreen "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

Genesis - Fusion.exe -gen -fullscreen "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

Sega CD - Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

In GameEx, I can run Genesis games with no problem. But Master System & Sega CD games fail every time. No error message is given. When a game is selected to run, the screen will go black as if it's going to launch, but drops back to the game selection screen.

GameEx has no problem recognizing that my ROMs are present as it properly lists them all and their artwork.

Not sure what my next troubleshooting step is. Any suggestions?

Did you try runitgame.bat or debug mode?

Welcome to the forums cdcd33!

Take a look at the How To Ask For Help thread for additional information on the suggestions Adultery provided. If you're having issues with any of that I would request that you post the emulator configs for your problematic emulators (it also wouldn't hurt to take a look at the good one too for the sake of comparison). Posting the contents of your runitgame.bat after having attempted to run your problematic emulators would also provide useful troubleshooting information.

Thanks man!

Thanks for the advice, gang. Like my account says, I'm a newbie to GameEx. I'll try out the debug mode in the morning and see if I can get some additional info to post along with my config.

More to come!

So, using debug mode, I was able to resolve the issues.

1st) Master System - The run command actually didn't have the "quotes" around "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" so I guess the spaces in the file names were screwing it up. Put the quotes back in and Master System was good to go.

2nd) Sega CD - The command I had posted above was actually NOT what was in GameEx. The default run command that GameEx had setup was something like this...

Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen [VIRTUALCD]

I changed it to what I had above and that fixed the problem.

So there you go, problem resolved!
