So my arcade box runs a 32" TV at 720p (1280x720). I was thinking the jagged lines kinda bothered me... then I remembered I have a good video card in this new rig. So I went into the nvidia control panel and then setup mame.exe to force 16x ansiotropic filtering and 8xAA instead of letting the application control it

WOW!!!

So far no issues! Run through about 20 games. They all look so much better!

Excitement done.

Good night!

Interested in this. I know few schools of thought on this - some like to preserve original appearances, but I'm a fan of renovating the old to look like new. Feels like a new game then. Love seeing PS2/Gamecube/PSP games in full HD.

However, never really fiddled with the actual GPU settings. Does this 'break' any games in MAME? Quite a high spec GPU in mine with 2G mem, so would hope it could handle any demand.

Be interested in peoples' experiences,

So far about 30 games with no issues. My thoughts are that I dont have an arcade monitor and am playing the games off an HD LED TV, which looks much better with AA to help deal with the resolution differences. If I had a 32" arcade monitor.... well this would probably be a different discussion.

Using it with Demul now as well. So far 9/9 with great success. Huge difference in quality. Only difference was I switched to 4x for Demul as 8x performance hit was a bit much.
