I try to get all my psx roms in the format bin/cue file, i have my gamex filter set to only see cue files, but when I select the file to play some of them i get a error (cd not usable failed to open file), but if i select the track 1 bin file it works fine.

There's a lot of missing information here. My guess is that your emulator is balking at whatever file is being loaded by GameEx. But what emulator? Are we talking specifically about the pSXFin emulator or "psx" in the generic PlayStation sense? Sside note: it's for this very reason that I've always thought "pSX" was a terrible name for an emulator.) What specific file is causing the issue? Uploading your emulator config and the contents of your runitgame.bat (after having experienced the error) will go along way towards clarifying some of this ambiguity. See here for further details.

Thanks man!

Thanks for the reply, I am using the psx emulator, I used to have many different types of game files working in my emulator, then when i decided i wanted to use a front end i chose gameex and i wanted to clean up my game image list, so i decided to go with the types of image/rom files that are bin files with one cue file, when i run my psx emulator outside of gameex i have the same issue. With certain games I start the emulator and select a image/rom cue file to play and it gives me the error (cd not usable failed to open file) but if i just select the first bin file for the game and load it the game works fine, the problem with that though is in my gameex psx game list i dont want to have 20 of the same games. Some of the games i have this problem with are, Auto destruct, Battle arena toshiden 1 2 and 3, Battle hunter many others, [REDACTED] I will try and get the info you mentioned above, though my game computer doesnt have internet so i got to use a thumb drive to transfer the stuff. Thanks again. Im guessing that because the games work when i load the track 1 bin file that it would be the cue file is not correct, but when i check it with notepad it has the same info as the bin files.

Please refrain from discussion of how you obtained ROMs. Please refer to the Forum Guidelines and Rules link and address any concerns regarding via PM. Thank you.

I don't know what your bin files look like, but you can be creative with your rom filter and use something like *1.bin.

If that doesn't work for all of your games, and some only load with the cue files than you can set your emulator up twice (Once for each type of file) and then combine your list using an emulator group.

As you have already figured out, if it doesn't work in the emulator on it's own it won't work in GameEX.
