I've been neglecting my Arcade for a while now but recently started doing some spring autumn cleaner.

I've moved a few folders about and updated some game collections.

I updated MAME to 150 but now LCD/LED Plugin isn't working with MAME games. It's still working fine with my other emulators that I manually setup colours for but it seems it either isn't reading the game names from the latest MAME or it's not finding them in the colors.ini or nplayers.ini

When I go into the profile editor it only lists 'Default' in the game list for MAME, I could've swore in the past that this used to list every game so you could modify the colours but can't remember for sure.

Any suggestions as to where to start looking?

I'm not sure this is definitely a MAME issue as in my cleanup I reorganized my folder structure.

My previous layout was:

Root\System\Roms so it was E:\Mame\Roms

My new layout is:

Root\Emulators\System

Root\Roms\System

So in the new system the MAME roms are in a completely different location that the exe e.g.

E:\Emulators\MAME\mame64.exe

E:\Roms\Mame

I don't think this should affect the plugin as MAME is working fine through GameEx but thought it was worth mentioning.

The other change I've made is I've moved my GameEx installation folder from E:\GameEx to E:\Emulators\GameEx

I re-installed GameEx pointing to the new path and everything else is working fine it's just this plugin is giving me trouble.

Thanks
Stu

Can you check something for me? I recently did an update to add support for the control change in MAME 0149. Not sure if this is the problem you're having but give it a go. Just replace the dll with the attached one.

Did you change your paths within the plugin?

Off course not, why would I try something as obvious as that :)

Thanks Tempest that's it sorted, I assumed that the plugin grabbed all that info from GameEx, I never noticed that section of the config.

@Headkaze - there's something up with the new dll. I'm struggling to describe what it's doing. Some games show no buttons defined and others show a mix of buttons. If I select a game that it thinks has 3 buttons assigned then click a game that previously had no buttons assigned then the no button game will show the same buttons as the 3 button game.

The labels don't appear to be getting read or the colors in the new version either.

I've attached a few screen shots showing the difference between the 2 dlls.

The old version seems to be working fine anyway so no panic but if you want me to do any testing then let me know

Thanks

Stu

It is working fine for me with the latest version PlugIn and your data files (I'm using Mame 0.149 but it shouldn't make a difference)

Try this

1. Copy the new PlugInLCD.dll into your GameEx\PLUGIN folder

2. Edit PlugInLCD.ini and remove the Mame version number entry

ie. Change

Version=0.148
to

Version=
3. Run the PlugInLCD Configuration app from the PlugIn Manager and it should recreate ListInfo.xml and MiniInfo.xml

Let me know how it goes.
