I don't know if it is my system or if it is something else, but I noticed that when I first started gameex on 3/19, the GameEx.exe process was using about 118.4MB of memory, which I have no problem with. However, I just now checked the system, as I have been letting it sit for a few days, and I noticed that GameEx.exe is now taking up about 446.6MB of memory, and aparently at some point in time it threw an OutOfMemory exception, but without a date and time so I have no idea when it happened. The system in question is a 2.4GHz P4 with 1 GB of ram, and as mentioned earlier, the only thing the system was doing from 3/19 till today (3/21) was running gameex (at idle i.e. showing mame screensaver). Has anyone else noticed this?

Otherwise, tom, I LOVE what you have been doing with this software and I plan on donating very soon to help you out. :)

I'm sure it's unrelated but I notice that the latests gameex doesn't exit as nicely as before. I escape out of game ex and it flashes back/desktop/black three or so times.

It just flashes once for me, which its supposed to do when exiting from full screen.

I've not changed how GameEx handles exit for a while, what version did you upgrade from?

I'll look into the memory leak. Ill leave it running on my cab.

Could you tell me, does your attract mode launch videos too, and did you have the jukebox playing?

EDIT: Also, is GameExtender enabled on your system?

Tom, mine is setup for mame, videos and jukebox. Extender is not running unless it is on by default and I somehow missed it.

So attract mode is playing music and cycling mame games and videos, and GameExtender in the config app is not set to enabled?

*bump* any luck with this one yet?

Please try 5.88, released Yesterday, and let me know if there is any improvement.

If as you say you have GameExtender turned off, then I am pretty sure the problem is down to videos playing. I could not see anything really wrong, although I made it stop loading all the GameEx graphics each time directx needs to be reinitialise, and forced garbage collection before a video is played.

Ill get my cab running, but let me know.

Cheers.

Tom,

Since my last post the new version seems to be going pretty good. Only an increase of about 1MB which is to be expected. No errors or anything else like that. Good work! :)
