Hi there,

I have a working installation of Hyperpin, but I like the performance and appearance of PinballX very much. Therefore I installed version 1.61 and moved my Hyperpin config there.

When trying to select a table by pressing Shift keys some tables are skipped and can't be selected. In Hyperpin the identical config runs perfectly.

I even tried to start from scratch with only 3 tables configured using the configurator, but the same happens here.

By pressing right shift I only can reach Back to the Future. Pressing left shift I can only reach Bride of Pinbot. No Good Goofers is skipped always.

Does anybody has an idea why this is happening?

Shouldn't the wheel start over if the end of the list is reached?

Appreciate any idea.

Thank you

CS

From your XML :

<game name="NoGoodGofers"> <--- NoGoodGofers
<description>No Good Gofers</description> <--- No Good Gofers
<manufacturer></manufacturer>
<year></year>
<type></type>
<hidedmd>False</hidedmd>
<hidebackglass>True</hidebackglass>
</game>

I believe the game name and description have to match, otherwise the table will not be displayed. Your other two tables have matching descriptions and names. Take the spaces out of the description and see what happens.

Good idea Mara, but nothing changed after correction.

Maybe it needs some more explanation:

as shown in the xml the tables are ordered alphabetically and they are shown this way on the wheel.

Even if NGG is always skipped (for whatever reason) my expectation would be that at least the other 2 would rotate.

What I see is when pushing left shift I only get BTTF. It doesn't jump to BoP.

When pushing right shift I only get BoP, without getting to BTTF.

Does it makes sense?

The description and name don't have to match. The description is the nicely formatted display name and the name is the file name. I tested your xml and it works for me without issues. Just a thought but it sounds like you are paging through the list instead of a single next or previous game, so check your input setup.

I wonder where I got the idea the description had to be the same as the game name.. Maybe it was for UltraVPServer to work, or Hyperpin required it? I just remember way back when I installed everything they had to match. And after 185 tables added to PinX, NOW YOU TELL ME!! LOL

The table name and description can be different. I recommend that the description and all of the media files DO match. In hyperpin it is absolutely necessary for these to match. PinballX will try to find media files that resemble the description but this isn't always accurate. I leave this option off in my settings because I have had a few problems with wrong images showing up.

And I agree with Tom, it sounds like you are skipping to the next letter instead of the next table.

Just my $.02

Tom, you made my day!!!

For whatever reason the keys for left and right and page up/down were assigned the same. Never looked at that...

Keys reassigned, problem solved.

Thank you

Just a side point. The Description is read from the XML by the UVPServer and it looks for a backglass .PNG and .UVP file with a name of the Description. It would have been nicer if it used the name but oh well :)
