Pinball x crashes

Once in awhile usually while scrolling through games or rarely in "attract / screen saver mode" pinball x crashes. Anyone else have this happen? Again not often

If its a hard crash with windows error its probably down to codecs or corrupt video.

Like I said it will most likely be video related as everything internal is handled and the app will just gracefully exit. What codecs are you running?

I know these codecs are the recommended ones but you may want to try the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP lol)

I've been using it since 2005 after the first release. I have had ZERO issues with the CCCP codecs and PinballX.

Great! Will try it! Seems to be crashing more since 1.64 so hope this helps. Any tips on xdmd for dummies?

I see the same exact problem from time to time, only when scrolling through the tables. I'll also try 1.65 like Tom suggested.

I'll try to keep track of which PBX version I get the crashes on because it did seem to go away for a few versions.

1.65 still crashed on me. one time.

So far so good.....upgraded to 165 and that was solid for the last 5 days. I installed 167 this morning and that seems solid also. Usually the acid test is coming in and out of tables and spinning the wheel right/left. (164 would not last 60 minutes)

Grrrrrrrrrrrr, back to 165 which seems the most solid for me.

There were issues with 1.64 and 1.63 but 1.67 should be just as stable as 1.65. Ill be releasing a new version shortly which should be even more improved.

Even though I hate when it crashes.....I can live with it. If you look at the above posts I've went days without a hiccup (165), and that is with the family entering/exiting tables and really beating on it. Maybe the moons are aligned when I run 165 but It only took a few hours with 167 . Once again great programming/product, I'm happy to be running it on my cab, and gameex on my MAME cab.

agreed its not a huge problem at all. very random! usually happens when im showing a new person though! LOL but can go days without crashing then just happens. otherwise I have ZERO problems with front end! oh! the only other problem is my DMD is still blank! LMAO!!!

Darn, I thought I almost found the culprit. I switched to 167 to test something out, started PBX, scrolled through some tables, CRASH.....at the same time the wireless mouse was sliding down the glass. Hmmmmmmm. So I kicked off PBX, scrolled.....everything is ok....move the mouse and scroll at the same time....CRASH.......I did this 3 more times with the same results. Unfortunately, I rebooted my cab, and can not reproduce the problem.
