create video utility doesn't work

When I use the create video utility for my roms, it simply runs through all my roms twice; playing about 20 secs of each, It then exits to the desktop but no AVIs are created. I looked in the specified folder as well as everywhere else on the computer. What am I missing?

If you are referring to the create mame videos shortcut, that was supposed to have been removed from the installer. It does not work with recent versions of MAME.

Oh, why was it removed?...or at least partially. It seems like a good feature

Basically MAME is always changing and updating and it is no longer possible to do the same thing with the current version of MAME.

If you haven't heard of it, you will want to take a look at emumovies.com. They have videos for almost every system. If you have a subscription, GameEx has a utility to download videos to match the roms that you have. If none of that works for you, I wrote a program called Snapshot Magician that can help automate the process of creating snaps and videos.
