Hi everyone! well, mi pc broke i had to reinstall gameex. I tried the newest version but was so different that i couldnt figure it out how the hell configure all the things that i used to have. specially without the gameexconfig file that was before and now doesnt exist anymore! Why gameex? because i knew how to use different versions of emulators on a single list, (mame model2 zinc etc) and because the screensaver its awesome! Im using gameex on an arcade cab with a real arcade monitor at 640x288, and all the games running at their original resolution. i could install an old version of gameex and it works great, but the screensaver doesnt. here's the log. Thanks in advance!

Dude, I hate to say it but GameEx 10.25 is pretty ancient at this point. You may have a better handle on how to configure 10.25, but from our perspective it may be completely frivolous for us to attempt to troubleshoot the error seen in your log, since it's likely that it's been fixed in one of the (several) intervening versions between 10.25 and 13.16 (the current version). Sorry to be the wet blanket here, but I would hate to see us spinning our wheels trying to fix something that's already been fixed.

I would highly recommend updating to the current version of GameEx though. It's awesome! :) We're here to provide assistance with any problems you may encounter with your setup or give additional details for any elements of the current configuration that might be confusing.

Thanks Diego!

Yes, as nullPointer said, it strongly recommended to update GameEx to the latest version (13.16 atm). I suggest to uninstall the legacy version, empty the GameEx installation folder and reinstall the latest version. This way you avoid clutter in your gameex folder because, as you noted, some files doesn't exist anymore and they would remain if you simply update without uninstalling. Updating it's not only a matter of troubleshooting, the fact is that now GameEx is a way much much better that version 10.

Now the updated news: the Setup Wizard is THE utility you need to configure and tune up every aspect of GameEx. You may need to use other utilities as well, but for now I suggest to open the Setup Wizard, have a bit of patience and read carefully everything throughout, configuring all the options you'll find.

Another suggestion: if you are starting from scratch reconfiguring your setup, make sure your emulators are set up, configured and working correctly on their own before starting to add them to your GameEx environment.
