Adultery
Sorry, I've been working on the DBM. I'll have a look later.Update: Should be fine now.
Adultery
Just a quick update on the automatic downloader app:Once I finish up with the new additions to dbm, I plan on offloading map/ini creation into a new php page that will generate the list on the server instead of only generating when the database is updated, and will be updating the console exe accordingly. This should remove the problem mentioned earlier if the map/ini isn't uploaded properly. I will keep you updated with the progress there.Instead of having to know the url of the appropriate file, both will use the same url but with a different arg in the url, for example:gameinfo.hfc-essentials.com/hiscore/get.php?type=map&icon=hiscore will generate the map file on request, and set the custom icon to hiscore.png, which will allow users to specify their own custom GameEx icon.Just a heads up for those who use this, since the launch before command will change when the exe is updated.
helpman
@gimmeclassics thanks for deleting my other thread, I posted it from my cellphone and wasn't able to delete it @adultery thanks mate! as it happened just after my gameex was updated I was wondering if it had something to do with that.(and since the update, pacdrive.dll on the plugins directory keeps showing an error popup when I open the plugin manager, as it says it's not working under windows :?) Adultery
Thats a known issue. It can't load an x64 dll on an x86 machine. I usually just delete the file it complains about.
jedah
Hi Guys,I am trying to get Hi score snapper up and running on my system and I have ran into an issue. I can't get it to snap anything when pressing SHIFT + HOME. I Have the .exe set up. Looking at the verification on the setup wizard I get the "path not found" error on the tweaks line "Runonstartup".This is how the line looks:"L:\GameEx\HiScore Updater\HiScoreUpdater.exe" -type 0 -mappath "L:\GameEx\PLUGINS\HiScore Snapper\HiScore.map"Can anyone see anything wrong with this?I have checked the paths on the updater.exe and the Map file over and over and can't see the issue. Am i putting this information in the wrong place (Tweaks/Performance in setup wizard)I have attached my log and ini if they are needed.J.GameEx.inilog.txt
hansolo77
I personally don't use the snapper. It requires you to build a custom compile of MAME (and I just did that, and completely forgot, again). That might be your problem. Please refer back to THIS THREAD for further help with it. Adultery
Are you talking about the snapper PLUGIN? Thats not what this exe is, this is for updating a map file before gameex starts. Completely different thing. You should remove that command from the launch before parameter. You bed to download it, and then enable the plugin via GameEx's plugin interface: Start > GameEx > Plugin ManagerEdit: I see you have it installed and it's initializing. Can you post the log from GameEx > Plugins > HiScore Snapper? I need the log and settings.xml from there. Also be advised that: the rom must be the same one specified for the comp, and if you don't have a custom compiled MAME with DirectInput enabled, you can't use internal MAME settings. DazzleHP
Could this be because jedah seems to be using a non-integrated MAME setup? I was on the understanding that for the Snapper to work you need to use the integrated MAME portion of GameEx?
jedah
I think I am using the integrated MAME setup. I don't have MAME setup as a separate emulator (at least I don't think I do), but I do have the GameEx hiscore challenge map setup as a separate emulator.Maybe I will try the MAME favourites route and see if I have more luck there. DazzleHP
but I do have the GameEx hiscore challenge map setup as a separate emulator. That's what i meant, yes Try loading Bomb Jack directly from the MAME section and see if the snapper works. If so then you may indeed need to use the MAME list route.
jedah
That didn't work either. I get an unhandled exception error when I press shift+Home. To get out of it I have to ALT+TAB to get to error then tab across to continue and press enter I then have to ALT+TAB back to GameEx before I can quit.I have also just tried switching to MAME Favourites way of doing things remembering to change the .ini path and -mappath to -favorites in runonstartup and I am still getting an unhandled error? jedah
SUCCESS!!!!!!! I just re-checked everything and now it works as a MAME Favourite. I have no idea what the problem was but now it is working. Thanks for your help Adultery, DazzleHP and hansolo77.Time to start posting some scores.
Adultery
Glad to habe you aboard! You can walk around that bug by updating to the latest version of the snapper plugin btw. You're a version behind atm and I fixed that already. Edit: Wait, maybe you are on 1.0.5 already... I may not have pinned the latest version to the release thread. Nevermind. Evilforces
Hi guys!!!I'm trying to get my competition games list updated with this command line on launch on startup: "D:\Utilidades\HiScore Updater\HiScoreUpdater.exe -type 0 -mappath D:\Utilidades\HiScore Updater\HiScore.map" and getting the "path not found" on the verification page. There is any problem with this command line?I only want to have this map file updated to see the competition games inside GameEx, but I'm unable to getting work with this command line.Any suggestions?EDIT:If i put only the D:\Utilidades\HiScore Updater\HiScoreUpdater.exe there is no error. The error comes with the atributes -type 0 -mappath D:\Utilidades\HiScore Updater\HiScore.map
Adultery
Are you enclosing the whole command line in quotes? You only enclose the paths in quotes."D:\Utilidades\HiScore Updater\HiScoreUpdater.exe" -type 0 -mappath "D:\Utilidades\HiScore Updater\HiScore.map"

Adultery
I hate to ask, but you downloaded the EXE right? Here's how mine is set and it works for me:GameEx LaunchBefore: "C:\GameEx\MISC\HiScore_Updater\HiScoreUpdater.exe" -type 1 -fpath "C:\GameEx\MISC\MameFavorites\HSComp.ini"If I try to do a MAP it also works:GameEx LaunchBefore: "C:\GameEx\MISC\HiScore_Updater\HiScoreUpdater.exe" -type 0 -mpath "C:\GameEx\MISC\MameFavorites\HSComp.map"I just verified it and it works. Evilforces
Adultery, the external quotes you see in second image (verification zone) is not put by me, it's GamEx who puts that external quotes....
