Tom,

You read our post on MAMEWORLD, but can I make a small suggestion.

When configuring GameEX and you get one setting wrong it just stops and moans which is fine, of course that happens after the nag screen! So you see the NAG screen EVERY time to run it until its correct.

Can you change that so the program checks for config errors FIRST before it starts the nag screen?

Thanks!

I agree its great, I agree if you use it as your main MAME frontend you SHOUDL pay for the extras and stop the nag screen

BUT, it would make more sense and for testing / configuring purposes to change the config and nag screen around so that IF the settings are wrong it stops straight away rather than at the moment, it still runs through the nag screen only to find you have something configured wrongly AGAIN!

I'm sure everyone will agree that makes far better sense.

I'm not for one second saying remove it, just change the order in which they are executed and displayed.

yeah dude.... he is not going to change the flow of the program for a person who doesnt donate. He normally will make chagne requests for people who donate. I think tom is going independent as a developer and we have to support him.

trust me.... if you were "just using it for mame"... it is an easy setup with no troubleshooting.

DONATE buddy.

The more people like it, the more people will donate....keeping the nag screen before the config test is just going to keep MAMEWAH and other MAME GUI users to their current MAME Frontend.

Just a suggestion....

Furthermore, Tom should be listening to the people that AREN'T donators yet as they are the ones who have the potential to give him money if they are satisfied with the program.

Irritating the hell out them isnâ??t going to do that....

Again, I'm not saying get rid of the nag screen, just rework the code so the confg is executed first, then when everything is OK execute the nag screen code and carry on.

I'm always listening to anything that makes GameEx better, but to be honest you probably won't get much sympathy on these boards here. The majority of active members have given a donation, and from what I can tell don't regret it all.

The time I spend on GameEx is crazy man, and it does not pay the bills. Just take a look at the feature requests and the completed feature requests.

You do make an educated point, but no ones forcing you to use the software, although everyone's welcome to ask for requests, and as I said I listen to anything that's a good idea.

Thanks,

Tom
