anything special needed to get videos to work? Just getting a blank screen (even with the default 3 table videos that were provided).

PinballX looking good so far though.

Just a thought, but this may be a codex issue. Are you guys running any codec packs? Typically Shark007 is what we recommend over in the GameEx forums. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if that did the trick to get videos running in PinballX as well.

I wouldn't think it needs additional codecs if it already works in hyperpin and its the same video format. I'll dig deeper.

Thanks

ok - so installing that Shark007 codec pack worked but thats a huge negative (in my case) as I don't want to install any additional codecs if not needed.

I also see there is no backglass video support (or at least not yet). Hopefully that is a consideration at some point?

Great job nonetheless. Love having alternative frontends.

Backglass videos are in the same format as the playfield videos. You can find them at the usual pinball places.

What sort of BackGlass videos are out there?

Another request if possible. The backglass videos stop playing after it reaches the end of the video (similar issue in HP). Is it possible to have the backglass videos loop like the playfield videos do?

Also - can you add an attract mode where it cycles randomnly through your tables at a set interval (that you set in an ini?)

:)

Tom - can you also add an x,y offset feature for the backglass as well? I hope all these requests aren't becoming annoying :)

I've just had a half an hour play around with it and got a few things but as this is for videos, would it be possible if you could support video switching? Or as you have a few empty table menu slots adding a video with sub menu choice in here?

These would be for videos collected of PAPA gameplay & tutorials, always thought this would make a nice touch to a collection in one frontend.

:D

Another feature request - not sure if its possible but could you have a 3rd video section (maybe entitled DMD) where it could launch another video but much smaller and have it play on a 3rd location at a set x,y or even on a 3rd monitor. That way you could have a table video, a backglass video and a DMD/wheel video? :)

I'm actually starting on the backglass videos this weekend.

Thanks Jeremy. Any chance you will be hosting the other content for pinball or does that require a hyperSpin subscription?

Has anyone else tested the gameplay/tutorials yet?

I've tried every mp4 & h264 setting in the shark codecs gui. All videos work with mediaplayer, vlc, winamp but not in the frontend.

They work but they are picky. Did you try selecting the shark recommended settings checkbox?

I did try and mess with converting them etc but they were still a bit picky.

Yes, tried alot, recommended sharks and my own. I think they could be converted to similar as what the table video mp4 is.

If i drag any table video into gameplay or tutorials and rename f4v to mp4 these work fine.

I have tried a few conversions, but none were successfull. mp4 to mp4. mp4 to avi to mp4. Never had problems making table & backglass videos working.

I think I've found a problem here. As soon as a gameplay video is started it's closed half a second later.

Copy any table video to tutorial or gameplay. Rename it to Whitewater (Williams 1993).mp4. Check whitewater in pinballx. You should see the video pop up and whitewater come back.
