i want to use the vertical option in game ex but i want the default game ex bezel to show up only when i dont have the original bezel artwork.

I do. Unfortunately enabling the default bezel is an all-or-nothing affair. When it's enabled, the default bezel will take effect for all games. There is currently no way to configure it to behave as the 'fallback' bezel in the event that no other bezel can be found.

I believe this has been made as a feature request at some point in time. It certainly wouldn't hurt to make a new feature request to keep the idea fresh.

Would you be opposed to having a copy of the generic bezel for every rom for which you don't have a bezel?
