Adultery Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 You could use Xpadder... There's a plugin for it too!
nullPointer Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I'm not sure Xpadder is the answer here as the I-PAC is itself a keyboard encoder (in other words it's already mapping button presses to key presses by virtue of what the device is).Not that I can speak from experience, I don't even own a cab! So epicfatigue I think you may want to have a look at the Keyboard Input section rather than the Joystick Input section. What you enter there will depend on how you've configured your I-PAC. Now as far as configuring your I-PAC goes, I'm afraid I'm a bit clueless. A quick Google search brought up quite a few hits on the forums regarding I-PAC support in GameEx. Hopefully the following reading material can shed some additional light on the subject.IPAC support in GameExNeed assistance programming iPac from gameexusing my ipac to the fullestIpac shifted controls
mviars Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Yeah Null is right just use the keyboard input section instead of the joystick section and if your using mame just hit the tab key after starting a game to set up the "general" input section to set it up for use for all mame played games. One note my cab had a older ipac with all the default settings still set and one thing that kept bugging me was the exit key was mapped to a letter like "c" or "v" and I had my GameEX's game list set to go to the first letter of any keystroke I would hit for quicker navigation so the problems was that if I hit "c" to start my game list with games that start with c it would exit out of gameEx. I ended up downloading the ipac remapping utility to set exit to the more common escape button to solve the problem. 1

It looks like you are trying to configure game pads.
epicfatigue Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 hi guys above the keybaord section displays grey as well i can take a picture of that too if you like but its the same....looking like another format... again,,...
nullPointer Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Can you tab into entry fields in the keyboard input section? Can you use a mouse to click into the fields? I've never seen any field become disabled in the Setup Wizard since all it's doing is saving ini settings. I guess I'm confused about what the nature of the problem is. Would you mind providing a bit more detail epicfatigue?
epicfatigue Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 i can click the fields and i can use a keybaord to input to them, however if i use the ipac i get nothing i can select clear or cancel using the ipac (moving up and down and can even use shift and hit my eneter key) to select cancel or clear but no input goes in.open up a notepad and the ipac sens all conmands fine to that.where is the ini located so i can put them in manually
DazzleHP Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 ...\GameEx\CONFIG\custominput.iniRefer to scancodes.txt in the same directory for the number codes
