DazzleHP Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Sweet! What is the state of Jag emulation these days? i've not tried in around 4 years as back then it was way off playable. I'd be well happy to play Rayman again! infact it may almost give me a semi, eh KRC 1 Quote
celly Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Ha, Semi! I dont think anyone around here is gonna let that one down KRC. Giggity.I'll try out that new VJag and see how AvsP plays. Thats about the only real game worth it for that system. Quote
KRC Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Ha, Semi! I dont think anyone around here is gonna let that one down KRC. Giggity.I had a feeling that it would come back and bite me in the ass, and no doubt there's plenty more ribbing Quote
nullPointer Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Awesome! Thanks for the heads up KRC! Maybe playable Jaguar emulation isn't such a pipe dream after all! Gonna have to check this out. Quote
KRC Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Awesome! Thanks for the heads up KRC!No worries I'll be testing this out later also. Maybe this is a turning point for Jaguar emulation Quote
KRC Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 I have tested VJ 2.1 for roughly 30 minutes (outside GameEx) and everything seems to be OK, nothing wrong stands out for me.I tested various scenarios, Fullscreen etc. and I haven't encountered any problems. The sound seems to be alot clearer from what I remember with previous releases, and things seem less choppy with general gameplay, apart from a couple of freezes with Total Carnage.Tested on I7-3740 laptop and Intel Dual Core laptop.Looks like it can be added to my setup. All in all I think it's a decent release. KRC Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Did a little more testing on VJ 2.1.Good news for DazzleHP, Rayman works like a dream, but Alien Vs Predator is still annoyingly choppy. Quote
Krakerman Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Does VJ support command line so we can set it up to run under GameEx? Quote
DazzleHP Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Did a little more testing on VJ 2.1.Good news for DazzleHP, Rayman works like a dream, but Alien Vs Predator is still annoyingly choppy.Yeah i actually tested quite a bit yesterday too and meant to post my findings. I'm a bit rough atm though so fell asleep Rayman works amazingly well, as does Zool 2! As you said KRC, AvP is still terrible - i was getting 10-15fps on a 2nd gen i3 Others, such as Power Drive Rally i couldn't get past the title screen (black-screen-o-death) and some were a mixed bag - Tempest for example ran fine once you finally got the actual level loaded, but the menus preceding were giving me 5-12fps!All in all this is a huge step compared to when i last tried Finally! I've been waiting years for Jag emulation to wake up ~ thanks for bringing it to our attention KRC Some screenies ~ just, because! 1 Quote
Krakerman Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Not sure what version you are using but you need to get the latest GIT version! as it is much much better than v2.1 1 Quote
