FEC Ultra only *kinda* working

hi, i was wondering if someone could help me with this... im using the FCE Ultra emulator for my nes games, and everything runs fine in the emulator itself (outside of gameex) but when i try to run it through gameex, the game starts and i can see the game fine for about 2-3 seconds... then my monitor looks like it's changing resolution and just goes to a black screen (i can still hear the game playing).

in fce i have my resoultion set to 640x480 which my monitor definitely supports (mame plays fine at 640) so im not sure what im doing wrong here.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest giving Nestopia a try. It is being actively developed and works well for me. I can post my config if that helps.
