[RESOLVED] Videos/Snaps not showing with select systems ONLY

Hello!

I just purchased and installed v12.98 and have made sure that my emulators are working properly, videos/snaps named correctly, etc.

My issue is that I can't seem to get Gameboy (B&W) to show videos (snaps work) and Gameboy Color won't show either.

** All other emulated games show media perfectly (GBA - Nintendo - Sega, etc.) with .png snaps and mp4 videos. **

Any help that could point me in the right direction? Has this happened to anyone else before?

If you have emumovies download setup on the computer it might be the issue if its not named your videos to the correct names of the games but the snaps are named to the correct names. There are tools that will rename your videos. Do the videos work if you remove the snap path? If so that is probably the issue.

I took out the Snap path on both GB and GBC, leaving just the Video path. No Joy. Neither shows any preview. Weird.

I can see in the log GameEx is failing to open the videos. What video codecs do you have installed? Do the video files mentioned in the log play outside of GameEX?

Not sure. However, the GB and GBC videos play in WMP. And ALL the other systems are showing .mp4 previews correctly.

Something I just noticed - all the other systems preview videos are "standard" sizes ie. 640x480 or 720x480. The GB and GBC videos are 534x480. Maybe GameEx doesn't like that size?

Try installing shark windows 7 codecs.

PS: I just tested gameboy colour videos and they work for me. I have shark codecs for windows 7 installed.

Thank you! That did the trick (but I don't know why). I guess whatever codec I had installed didn't much care for the odd sized videos.
