hi guys,

I've just brought game ex and followed the instructions but it seems the nag screen is not disappearing? am i doing something wrong?

Also I have 2 issues with game ex - My Playstation games will not show up at all - I'm Using epsxe as the emulator...is there a special trick for this?

And Mame is missing a lot of my games but mainly neo-geo games...how do I fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Hey, welcome to the forums.

Im not sure about the nag screen, I'll direct tom to the post.

Its always easier for us if you could attach your log.txt and gameex.ini files.

In regards to ePSXe not showing Roms it maybe a Rom filter issue.

Hi dougan. Getting rid of the nagscreen - when starting a mame-game - is possible by using a compiled version of mame :)

Hey,

In relation to your roms not showing in GameEx, are your roms in the correct directory, are they zipped up?, and also what extension do your roms have?

Try this in your Rom filter for ePSXe

*.bin;*.iso

This will only show .bin and .iso files and remove .cue files.

Go to ePSXe emulator in the setup wizard and scroll halfway down and you will see it. It's on the same page as where you setup your Rom paths etc for ePSXe.

Thanks KRC,

I also have .img but I also tried adding that to the rom filter but it didnt work?

Also what is the recommended PSX emulator?

I usually use epsxe but it seems not the best with some game? (IE chrono cross)

I'm just trying to get the picture a decent quality for a 46 inch 1080p HDMI TV

Any ideas?

Did the rom filter that I gave you work, it should have?

If you wanted the inclusion of .img files, the rom filter would look like this,

*.bin;*.iso;*.img

If you copy the above into the rom filter for ePSXe, it should work.

In terms of the best Playstation emulator, this all comes down to preference, I use ePSXe just because ive had it since the beginning of time :D , I think the pSX emulator has better compatibility and is easier to setup but ePSXe is more feature rich with the likes of filters/plugins so it looks better IMO anyway.

I cant judge pSX because ive never used it and probably never will.

Heres a topic about the new version of ePSXe

dougan636 - Please use a spoiler when posting the content of large files. You can also post the file itself by clicking on 'More Reply Options' and then attaching the file.

The posts are way too long without either of these options.

Thanks!

Edit: What I meant to say is that I have mangled your post (Almost) beyond recognition. It seems that there is something buggy about the forum software and BBCode. My apologies.

Yeah! I don't like the new forum software. The BBCode is way weird.

As far as filters, they are nice but not using them wouldn't keep roms from showing up.

If roms don't show, then it could be due to the following:

  • Rompath is incorrect
  • Roms are in sub-folders and the setting is not chosen
  • Listing is cached for that emulator and the map file needs to be deleted so that it can be recreated by GameEx
