oxwald
Is there a way to display snapshot when there is no video preview : When i remove video preview folder, all my roms display a snapshot but when there is a video folder, only roms with a video display a video preview : those without video display an empty previewThanks
Adultery
You have both set up in the emu?Video Path:Snap Path:Or are you combining them into one directory? If you are... Don't do that. There's settings for both.
AlphaUMi
GameEx displays snap preview if video is not found. GameEx already does that. But as Adultery said, video and snaps must reside in separate folder, and correctly configured through Setup Wizard. oxwald
Yes, there is a path for each type of content.
nullPointer
So did you get everything working to your satisfaction when both paths are configured properly?
oxwald
No, it was like that when i created this topic ;-)
Adultery
You didn't answer my question though......are you combining them into one directory? If you are... Don't do that. There's settings for both.Just because you have them set up doesn't mean you don't have both vids and snaps in one directory... which I could tell you now if I had the next thing... GameEx 101 here bro... Can I see your GameEx log and GameEx ini? No one can help you out without at least the log, unless you can telepathically send me your settings. LOL!

oxwald
No problem, here is the ini.Vids and snap are each in a separate folder (you could see it in the ini file)GameEx.inilog.txt
Tom Speirs
What file extension do the snaps have? I think I can see the issue. If you look at your log GameEx is failing to open the video. So a video is found, but it cant load it so that's why it is not showing a snap.

nullPointer
Do the videos run natively on your system (i.e. do they run in Windows Media Player)? This may be a codec problem. Several of us around here recommend the use of the Shark007 Codec Pack. It may be worth a shot. If you go that route, just be sure to get the right version for your OS, and follow the installation directions carefully.
oxwald
Is gamex only supporting .avi videos ?
Adultery
No it supports mp4 but it looks to me like you need to install the codex pack mentioned by NullPointer. There really ought to be a check that shows the snap on an error but there's not sadly. nullPointer
GameEx supports several different video formats, but for MP4 you'll need some variation of the ffdshow codecs. Several of us rely on the Shark007 Codecs for this functionality. See here for further info.
oxwald
Yeahhh, after install of ffdshow, it worksThank you very much.
