MAME games not showing in list

I;m using MAME v 0.104 and i have a lot of games which aren't showing in my update list, some hames include:

Street Fighter

Marvel vs Capcom

Killer Instinct

Gauntlet

Metal Slug

Killer Instinct 2

Other games load and work fine. I've tried downloading every version of the games above, and none work...

Can anyone assist?

I did find on first pass that of the 4000+roms I had stored only 2065 appeared. Even if I turned off all the filtering they didn't re-appear until I did a full update list with all the filters off. Then once I had the full list I applied the filters within Gamex (advanced mame) Config and removed some of the duplicates. The filters are very effective but for example choplifter rom has a faulty ic in it but the bootleg doesn't so I had to figure something out. I may have done it wrong or indeed overly complicated it but it worked for me.
