[RESOLVED] Gameex Update loop??

Hey guys,

Long time no see been working hard on the arcade machine, recapping the monitor wiring my namco guns etc etc,

However when i log into gameex it asked me to preform an update.

So i say yes get a whitescreens says its downloading away it goes then after that takes me back to the same screen and asked me to update again and again and again...

Any ideas people?

Yes, this happens occasionaly on some systems. Just do a manual download and install from GameEx.com. The setup.exe is exactly the same as the auto update just not automated.

In my experience, this happens when you change your paths after installing. Like, you installed it to the default path then got a new drive and moved everything to that. When you go to run it from the new drive, it shows theres a new version and attempts to install it. However, it installs it back on the original path. You are still running via a shortcut on the new drive, so GameEx doesn't know it's already installed a newer version in a different path. Tom is right though, the best way to fix it is to do a manual install, that will change all the paths in the registry (etc.) to point to your new drive.
