Gens Plus Question

I had a quick question that I was hoping one of the geniuses on here would be able to answer for me. I have run into an issue running mulitplayer roms on Gens Plus where if two people are playing at the same time they tend to accidentally activate the game genie keyboard shortcut (ctrl + G) which pauses the game and pulls up the game genie menu. I have ctrl mapped to the first button for player on one my cab and G is mapped to the second joystick to the right. Does anyone know of a way for me to deactivate keyboard shortcuts on that emulator or to disable game genie completely. I have not been able to find one myself but figured I would see if anyone else has run into this issue before.

I could remap the buttons for that emulator to just use the bottom row of buttons for player one and thus avoid the control button but I am hoping to avoid that. Thanks for your help.
