radio not playing on startup

If I play a radio station manually, use GameEx for a while then exit. Restart GameEx later, the radio station doesn't play again - even though it says the radio station is loading in the top menu bar and in the log. I have the setting to play music/radio on startup enabled. Any way to fix this, is this a known issue or expected behavior?
