GoTheBunnies
Great theme Krakerman, and I think I'm nearly there with it.........For most of my emulators, they load up fine and the background is perfect for where you have set the video previews to play etc - I didn't have to set the Custom Background. For a few of the systems, however, there was no background, so I manually set the Custom background so that it picked up the right background for the emulator. Problem though is that the video previews etc are not in the right part of the screen. I've attached a pic of my Nintendo Entertainment System screen so you know what I mean. Have I missed a step when setting it up?I also noticed that the Emulator menu is not in the right part of the screen now (another pic attached), but I'm sure it was before? Again, is there a setting I've missed?
Krakerman
Hmmm Load the theme into the theme editor and goto the options/settings and make sure custom emulator layouts and custom module layouts are checked.
Chaos.Tiki
I would have to warn, copy your theme before checking the custom emulator layouts. I had a problem with that corrupting my themes.
Krakerman
All almost forgot by looking at your snaps you need to disable a few features like:- Hide Change View- There is also another one but I can't think of it right at the moment. So the By Manufacturer, By Date doesn't display.

Krakerman
Looks like you are getting an error with the Boulder font. Did you install the font that I included with the zip?
Bigby
I have the same problem with some of the emulator screens having no background and the layout being wrong. I noticed that some of the names of the ini files differ to what my emulator entries are named. Such as Atomiswave - where mine is named Sammy Atomiswave. So by renaming it to Sammy Atomiswave, this corrected the layout issue. I still needed to select a background for it though.

In other words, I need to match the emaultor folder names to the .ini names in the theme?I'm away for a few weeks niow, but looking forward to giving this a try when I get back home! Did you install the font that I included with the zip?I can't for the life of me find where to download this font (and I can't see where the original zip file is)?? I've matched the .ini file names to my emulator folder names, but continue to have the problem with a few of them. Thanks
Adultery
That shouldn't matter if you selected the page manually from "Advanced Emulator Setup".
GoTheBunnies
That shouldn't matter if you selected the page manually from "Advanced Emulator Setup".But Bibgy is suggesting it does matter. I've selected the background manually in all of the Emulator SetUps, but it's still not lining up correctly on a few on the emulators. Bigby's post suggested that I needed to change the .ini files to match the 'emulator entries' - I'm just trying to clarify what he means by that. Adultery
I don't understand why they're in the INI to begin with is the problem, you should be able to choose it how you like without screwing with the INI in the emulator's config. You could simply delete those entries that specify files for specific emulators. It's probably the emulator's TitleText property.
Bigby
This was some time ago, but as I remember I opened the theme in the theme editor. In the "Templates" box, compare the names to what the layout ini's in the theme folder are. The ones in the theme editor are what GameEx expects them to be named.Just to clarify, i don't mean to edit the contents of these layout ini's, just what they are named. GoTheBunnies
Ok, I now have all of the emulator backgrounds lining up! (woohoo!) - not entirely sure how I fixed it, I copied the backgrounds with a new name which matched the name I'd given the emulator in my GameEx settings, pointed to the new file, and it worked. The only backgrounds that are now not lining up properly are my 'Emulators' menu, 'Most Played' and 'Last Played' - how do I tell GameEx to point to the files Krak has created for these menus? Krakerman
I think I had those options disabled. I have been working on the new theme and I don't have retro arcade installed currently, but I think I might of had that off.
IMBerzerk
I find I have to manually change the position of the boxes myself sometimes. You do this by going to the second list on the left, selecting the page you are having troubles with, open the tree, and allow the layout to display in the main window. You'll see the positions of all the boxes, and just place them where you want them.I think this happens because the theme either creates a new page for the emulator and uses a default layout... or your naming of your emulator might not match the provided pages in the theme.... if that makes sense.I've had the same problem and cured it by just manually moving things around. For sanity of mind... I also find it's A LOT easier on your blood pressure to just use the same box positions in each background, but change the look of the background. You can then use the 'global' editiing method... which is when you first start the theme editor.I hope I helped here and not confused you more... theme editing is not an exact science to me. Krakerman
You are correct with the naming of the themes. I used my own naming of alot of the emulators so you do have to go in and make sure your emulator has the correct custom background for each emulator.
