Gamex update error - having a few problems

Hi folks,

It's been a while since I used Gamex. I fired it up today and all appeared OK. Go to start a MAME ROM. The ROM will start but after about 30sec the ROM self exits back to the Gamex. Does this for all ROMs (sort of like when you hit escape). I thought maybe I should update Gamex. I perform autoupdate.

On install of the autoupdate it crashes. I pasted below some of the update script,

I'm not sure if the update error and the ROM error are related or if the ROM error is related to MAME.

platform: Asus core i7 12Gb ram Geforce GTX440M

OS: Windows 7 64bit

MAME version: MAME 64

Could you post the full log please.

I tried the autoupdate again and it worked this time so that's not a problem.

I checked to see if MAME ROMs are working but same problem there. Gamex has updated OK but MAME ROMs are still exiting after 30sec

Maybe I should try reinstalling MAME

MAME works OK on it's own without the Gamex front end. It's as though something presses the escape key all by itself
