Hi,

I have read through the FAQ and the feature request forum, and I am not sure if this feature exists or not. Sorry if something already exists.

I have GameEx configured to merge ROM sets. However when this happens there is no way to select what snap is shown from merged set that I can see.

For example if I have 3 verions of a ROM with a video snap for the only one version of the ROM, but the other two versions only have a picture snap, I will often find that the static picture snap is the one that is used to represent the merged set.

  • Is this something I can resolved without having to duplicate my video snaps?
  • Can a map file be used?
  • Or best still, could GameEx be configured so that a video snap superseeds a picture snap on merged sets?

Thanks in advance

GameEx will in fact search for an exact match for a video first then snap then try to find a best match for video then snap. However if it finds an exact match for a snap and not video before it tries a best match it will show the snap. I think this is the issue you have here. You could try to use one of the file renaming tools available such as fat match or skinny match or otherwise use the EmuMovies download service.

Thank you for the speedy reply but I don't think that's quite my issue, I say this as the video snaps are named up correctly for all the ROMs. The problem is the snap it selects to represent the merged set. How does GameEx pick that (it seems to be the to ROM in the set)? Once inside the merged set all the corresponding video/ picture snaps display fine.

Please try the attached. I would class the issue as a bug.

This version will change the match to be the sane as it is in the list. ie without the bracketed text.

This change will also be in the next official release.

Tom I found an issue with this version. When I exited out of Future Pinball all the graphics ... image1, image2, list, menu boxes were all messed up and not in the right positions.

Thanks for letting me know. I have fixed the problem.
