I was playing chrono trigger and tried to save my game like you normally would on SNES. When I exit the game (I have a controller input that closes the emulator and goes back to gameex) and reload it I lose my save, If I boot ZSNES directly and save the same way it works fine. Does it have something to do with the method I use to exit games? I If any more info is needed I'll post it up, just let me know. Thanks.

It might be helpful to post your emulator config that you're using for ZSNES. In the Setup Wizard go to the Emulator Selection screen, highlight the ZSNES entry, and click the 'Export Emulators' button (it's the bottom button in the center column of buttons).

I don't use ZSNES myself, but I know that there's an advanced config designed for use with ZSNES (called ZSNES V6). To test it out you can go to the Advanced Emulator Setup screen for your ZSNES entry. Check out the dropdown menu field for Advanced Config and select 'ZSNES V6'. That may or may not help out with your issue, but it's definitely worth a try.

That would be correct! An advanced config will required cuz the emulator is not being closed correctly. An advanced config will make sure the correct keys are closing the emulator on exit to GameEx.

I had a pretty similar experience with fusion for genesis, it would not save inside GameEx even though I set the correct paths, what I had to do was setup the paths on the emulator whilst it was running inside of GameEx.
