I've looked all over the net (and this forum) for an answer. I have a regular tube television hooked up to the computer. I had an old version of Gameex installed in which the games fit the screen well. A little (1/2 inch) off on the vertical, but did not detract from game play.

So, I installed the newest version of gameex, got it configured, but for some reason the game comes up partially off the screen. It's about 3 inches off to the right, and 1 1/2 off the bottom. I've messed around with everything I could think of but can't find an answer.

Does it have to do with the resolution settings in the config? It's currently set at 640 x 480.

Thanks for the help. Love the program.

More likely than not, it is a setting inside MAME32. I had a similar problem, only instead of being off an inch or two, it was zoomed up to 3x....

Not sure how it happened and it only did that on a few. Check the default display settings inside MAME32 and play around with it.....

I'll try that. Hopefully it works. I've gone a week without playing, and I kind of miss it.

I would also suggest putting the resolution of gameEX and your puter to the highest your TV can support. ie go to desktop --> rt click --> properties --> select the TV and slide the resolution as high as it can go.

my tv is 800x600.

After a ton of messing around, and unfortunately all before the last post, I set my resolution to 800 X 600 for Gameex, mame, Daphne and it all works great. The very top 1/4 inch of the full screen games can't be seen (which covers half of the score in some games), but it's back to where it was before. It would be nice if I could move the picture on the tv like one can on computer monitors, but....

You can. search the forum for "Powerstrip".

Pretty much mandatory software for real TV use.

You can also set MAME to always run at a certain resolution, by default it switches.

Also, don't forget the deadzone settings in GameEx

Sweet I accepted my 1-2" picture shift on my tv as being something to deal with!
