These are great starbuck! If you *really* wanted to mash it up...

Expand your overlay bricks about 50 px wide and high over your target size, and center that layer on top. Select a square outside the loading logos you made, feather it, and erase the middle out of it.

Then add a nice bevel inward effect and apply it to the top layer. The edges of the page stay crisp, and your "cutouts" are the same as mine on the overlay for the theme.

Drac may be able to help you achieve this in GIMP (I use PS). They're great this way, don't get me wrong... Just thought you might want a softer edge on your cutouts. :D

For those wanting to make your own system loading screens here is a zip of the psd and xcf files. I've also inclued a png of what the file locks like so that you can import and add your touches.

Enjoy :D

Thanks for the feedback Adultry. First things I've done in Gimp. I'll have to refer to Draco for the thoughts you have, The changes sound cool, but beyond me at this point. As I continue to learn, I'll try to made those changes. Next I want to try to do some emulator screens for some of the systems, I use that you haven't made yet.

The snaps have to match either the name of the ROM being loaded, or you can have one single snap that displays for all games regardless of what's being loaded. In the case of the latter you must specify the full file path for your single image (i.e. "C:\My Directory\My Image.png").

BTW, is there any chance that this behavior could be changed so that if you specify a specific image name that this becomes the default image rather than the exclusive image? For example, if I have 200 roms for an emulator and just three of them have custom layouts, right now I must place three unique images plus 197 dupicates in the controls folder. If the behavior treated a specified file as the default, I would only need to place four images in the folder (the default plus the 3 custom images).

This would make management of these folders a lot easier.

It's either or right now, which is why I added the functionality into iMagic to do both for controllers. (one of the main reasons I set out to do the plugin actually!)
