Problem when exiting Mame

I'm having some problems with Mame and GameEx. I'm using GameEx v5.45 and standard Mame v0.103. I'm using a USB gamepad to control GameEx and Mame.

Mame games start and run fine from within GameEx, but when I exit Mame using the keyboard (q) or gamepad (two buttons pressed simultaneously) Mame closes but GameEx doesn't reappear. The GameEx process is still running in the background, hideos is not running. Trying to restart GameEx doesn't work since it's already running. If I open the GameEx config and then exit, GameEx restarts all by itself - it doesn't reappear, it restarts from scratch. Occasionally exiting Mame works correctly and GameEx reappears. There doesn't seem to be anything useful in the log since GameEx doesn't crash or exit.

Any idea what's going on?

Can you try replacing GameEx.ee with the one in the attached ZIP.
