OK so to make sure I understand:

You select SNES and Snes.bak comes up. You pick Super Mario World and Snes.bak is still up, but you want a system based emubaks.PNG that says "select a game" instead of "Super Nintendo"... so like a snesgameselect.bak? That's a feature request but I'd be happy to add them (its really just a minor change on the psd).

:)

You already have select a game.bak that shows up if the emu doesn't have a bak. Would like the Snes.bak underneither the SNES to say select a game.

Are you sure your actually trying to play a file there?

Yes sir, I click on a song. In the bottom left hand size its says playing for just a few seconds and then word playing goes away. Nothing ever plays, no sound nothing. As you scroll thru the songs there is no video preview.

Posted

It sounds like you got it in Queue mode. You are not actually playing a file. Change it to instant play mode or click start karaoke.

checked that first thing after the update. Whats crazy is I played karaoke this morning. Installed update, changed nothing else and no sound. Log says failed opening file

Try deleting the karaoke cache file in the data folder. The Karaoke dat files.

So it has been working since I made the updates?

PS: I tried Karaoke on a fresh new XP virtual machine with new GameEx install and it works fine.

No has not been working since update. Last time it worked was this morning and I was on 12.33.

deleted KaraokeData.dat and KaraokeFiles.dat

When I ran Gameex it created the two files again as it should and they were the same as the ones I deleted

Reinstalled the codec

still not working.

Think I'm going to call iot a night Tom, This machine we use at work and I've need to call it a night and go home.

THanks for your help.

I'm test tommorow and try again.

No worries. Just so you know 12.33 had the new video/karaoke code. So I am not sure whats going on. Its weird that you get "playing" as that would indicate GamEx thinks its an audio file.

Are you and your friend sharing and/or using the same karaoke library maybe or are his files independent of yours(ie he had his own karaoke zips already)? You can't rule out the files just yet. :)

Ok just got home, I tried a different set of songs on my home computer and I get the same results, Its also a XP.It is on 12.37 My friend who just registered yesterday has a different set of files then either of my setups. He is getting the same results on windows 7. My HTPC is on 12.24 and it works fine using either zip or unzipped files. Just doesn't have previews in that version.

Fixed in 12.39. Now available.

It was a long standing bug. If a certain jukebox queue mode was set under audio settings it would not work. I guess you must have changed this setting recently.

However I am a little concerned that the previews were not playing.

Ive fixed the problem. It was actually a bug thats been around for a long time. I was able to duplicate with your GameEx.ini

YAY thanks Tom and Adultery :D:D:D:D

I'll download the update later and try it. Any chance, Tom in the future to adding folders like in videos for Karaoke. Would help in keeping my songs organized.

I see Tom squished your bug. Man my trouble shooting skillz are un-l33t today! :(

Still, glad your back to doing the Macarena! Lol!

Marking as resolved.

Ok downloaded and installed 12.39. Previews now show and songs play.

If they are zipped, the sound doesn't play in the preview or when you play the song. If unzipped , the sound plays in the preview and when you play the song. In both cases, the words are huge on the scrren and you can't see all of them.

Just a thought, you may want to add a option to mute the sound in the previews. People using it in a club setting want to see the words when selecting the song, but you don't want to play it for the whole audience. Only sound when you hit play and they perform the song.

Do you already mute your game preview videos? Maybe that setting applies to karaoke previews too?

Put the cold ones away for abit, only killed half the bugs, still swarming.

Did you get that zip I attached earlier. And did they help ya any.

And have you got the rest of the backgrounds done yet :P

No don't mute those. Helps keep me awake

Not yet because I was on the mobile at work, but I'm gonna be loading up the lappy in a few and I'll snag that zip and see what ya got in there in a little bit.

If I don't get suckered into GameSnapper I'll poke around with a PSD and see if I can use some of them.

And oh on your Karaoke preview note... So in your case sound in the preview isn't an issue. :D
