Pressing escape causes a pause before exiting?

im getting a weird problem when exiting GameEx ( pressing esc ) the mp3 ambient continues to play the screen goes black and it takes almost a minute before GameEx actually closes and returns me back to the desktop, ive also noticed a delay when navigating around the GameEx menus nothing shows in the GameEx log so its difficult to know where to start, ive cleared all the cache and made sure no other programs are running after start up.

Any ideas?

It does actually show in the log a line that reads "attract mode won't exit". Not sure if that helps ya Tom.
