Go on with the PSP I can handle the Wii and gamecube portion. Get me those games somehow!!! :) what should the output size be for avi about 10MB a file? I have to admit now that I have this new recorder it's a lot easier. Only thing I hate is I suck playing some of the game on Wii I.E. Madden but oh well. Some of these games have cool intro videos for example the Lego games could I leave those or do you want actual gameplay?

in many sports games you can set it to cpu/cpu. also sometimes it will play actual gameplay as part of the attract mode. Just depends. If you guys want to move this thread over to emumovies it might be helpful. And we can coordinate resources over there. Whoever is involved can be upped to content contributor status and we can use the private ftp if need be. Also DJ, are you burning these games to disc?

After looking at the file sizes I am sending the .VOB files over they are the size you want and 720X480 you can edit and mp4 them. :)

No problem :)

Can't wait actually. when they are up let me know and I will do a quick turnaround on them and see what you think.

Ohh this is coming along nicely!

Can I be promoted to contributer? J/K. Lol!

@Circo: What do you have for PSP so far? I did a test run and I don't get the rez you want out of ripping since the PSP letterboxes on a regular TV. I can take snaps super easy with CFW Extender (title, in-game, etc) so that's easy enough. No idea how to get around the letterbox issue though. Too bad really as I have a pretty large collection of games to draw from and all games play 100% on it (and PSX games too if I eboot them)...

I'm sure we can arrange something ;) wait...that already happened!

I don't have anything as far as psp is concerned. As far as letterboxing, thats all fixed in editing on my side so no worries about that.

OK. Let me upload a handful and see what you think. I'm still trying to see if FuSA is of any help. :)

Nothing beats ripping from the console! :)

PS: you'll be back to not sleeping in no time. :D

I got a PSX and PS2 with some games. Don't really have the money though to go out and buy the necessary hardware to capture them into the computer. I used to have a capture card, but I gave it to my brother years ago for his HTPC. The only thing I have now is 3 Hauppauge DVR cards that can only do coaxial cables.

Ohh ps2! Never even thought of that! I got loads of games for that too. I'm gonna focus on psp first though. It'll be nive to move these to the cab even if they don't play 100% yetLol!

Give me the files as raw as you can, the less encoding the better. Are you using a dvd recorder too?

PSX emulation is good enough that it wouldnt be worth it to do it on a real console.

Nah running the psp component cable straight into the computer actually via usb. I'm experimenting with capture software trying to find the best results I can. Probably stick wit uncompressed AVI using FRAPS if you don't mind joining the sections. So far it looks the best.

You can join them right? If not I can but if you're gonna edit them anyway... ;)

I have scripts set up that not only join the sections but automatically add the transitions. When I edit, the flow looks like this.

(Single game clip and title)

game g.avi

game t.avi

= game.avi

(Multiple game clips and title)

game g1.avi

game g2.avi

game g3.avi

game t.avi

=game.avi

The script auto joins and encodes.

When I do the editing I can resize, crop and pull the sequences out of the rough capture depending on what the submitter feel like doing ;) As far as what you upload it would be crazy to upload uncompressed 2gb avi sections. Look at the tutorial that I posted and it will walk you through how to quickly get it prepped for upload. Use xvid lvl 1, instead of uploading 2gb you will be uploading 50-60 mb. Or for lossless use TSCC (Check the private ftp)

Hmm FRAPS it is. Instead of doing one straight I'll hotkey in there and keep the intro and gameplay seperate.

I thought uncompressed was crazy but all my FRAPS stuff starts off this way. I'll do ya up a couple to start with and you can suggest any changes ya need. :)

I use fraps too, but you have to edit the capture a little ;) It's fine for capturing but you cant be using bandwidth to move those files.

I've added more games to this latest batch to include Sonic & Mario At London 2012, The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword. I think I got all the "Cool" games done. Circo has me finishing up the GC side of it. If any1 has any more Wii request for video snaps plz speak up :)

They're probably not part of the DB so you'll have to check the FTP specifically for user contributed stuff.
