could not find file c:\GameEx\Config\SetupWizard_.xml

Hey everyone,

I have gameex set up the way I wanted it, running mame, project64, jnes, and Zsnes emulators. I started gameex and the program runs fine....I go to emulated games and all of my emulators are gone?? Only to be replaced with Gameex Arcade...which I shouldn't have an option for.

I go to to run the gameex wizard and as soon as the page loads I get this error

could not find file c:\GameEx\Config\SetupWizard_.xml

I check the config folder and the file is there, nothing has changed and it seems like it happens randomly. I can do a system restore and it fixes the problem for a little bit only to come back when I restart the FE.

My system is a core 2 processor, 2 gb of ram, 250 gb hard drive with windows XP professional

Any ideas?

Hi Dennis:

I had a similar problem a while back. It's an easy fix.

What language are you using? If you're using English, just make a copy of your SetupWizard.xml and rename it to SetupWizard_en.xml ... The folder is located in C:>GameEx>CONFIG unless you changed the install path.

Hope that helps! :)

Also, if you have lost your configuration very occasionaly this happens. Config\gameex.ini stores the settings for GameEx and it sounds like this file may be corrupted or overwritten. However when a new GameEx version is installed the installer creates a backup called Config\GameEx.UpgradeBackup.ini. You may need to restore this file.
