[RESOLVED] Windows 7 x64 MAME Config?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am a licensed owner of the GAMEEX software. I am trying to get it running with MAME on a Windows 7 x64 SP1 box. It sees all my MAME ROMs, but when I click Play This Game on any of them, it:

1. Displays the controls

2. The screen blanks for a moment

3. Returns to the game-specific screen with no kind of error

I am guessing this is a MAME configuration issue. I've tried running with mame.exe and mame64.exe - neither will work. What else can I check?

Thanks.

Do the games you've tried run outside of GameEx?

Would be best to troubleshoot this using the runitgame.bat file. Instructions on how to do is can be found in the How to ask for Help pinned topic. Step 4B. This will show you the command window and display any errors with your setup. Should have something useful there.

Here are the contents of the file:

cp 65001

C:

CD "C:\Emulators\AdvanceMAME"

advmame.exe gtmr -device_video_output fullscreen -quiet -dir_rom "C:\Emulators\Mame32\roms"

pause

and here is what the window said:

Active Code Page: 65001

So you're using AdvanceMAME in addition to MAMEUIFX?

If not disable AdvanceMAME in Advanced MAME Settings.

I just figured out the issue. The AdvancedMAME config was pointed at the wrong ROMS directory. The games are launching now. Thanks for your help.

Absolutely. :)
